Volcano Villarica

If you arrive in Pucón on a nice day the first thing you will see is the impressive Volcano Villarica (2,847 m / 9,341 ft). It is one of only five volcanoes worldwide that has a constant lava lake within its crater.

The hike up to the crater takes about 4 to 5 hours. But it’s definitely worth it! The view is amazing and if you’re lucky you can even see some lava within the crater. Oh, and you just hiked up a smoking volcano!

But the funnest part is still the way down! Hop on your little plastic sled and you’re at the bottom in no time at all.

If you come to Pucón do not miss this amazing hike up an active volcano! This is one of the things you can definitely tell your grandchildren about!
